Student Leadership and Sustainability

Creating a sustainable school environment is important to Thiele Primary School as it aligns to our school value and provides learning opportunities for all students.

A male and female student from Reception – Year 7 are elected as Student Representative Council (SRC) members each semester. These students provide student voice as they represent their class when they meet on a weekly basis to discuss school events and issues that are important to them.

The Campus Student Leadership Team (SLT) comprises of four Year 7 students from each of the three schools who work together along the Natural Resource Management Board (NRM) and Youth Environment Council (YELP) to increase the awareness and learning of the importance of Sustainability throughout Campus. These students work on a project and facilitate ‘Green Day’ in June where they use the Kids Teaching Kids approach to share their project throughout the day and in an evening Community event to share ways of being more sustainable to staff, students and the community.
